My story

Meet Cody, an active, adventurous dog who truly comes alive in the great outdoors. Cody loves exploring the world around him and would thrive with an active, adult-only adopter who enjoys long walks, hiking, and spending time in nature. He’s happiest when he has a job to do or a trail to follow, making him a wonderful companion for someone with an on-the-go lifestyle. Cody will need a cat-free home, as he has a strong chase instinct. He is also unsure about other dogs; while he may be able to find the right canine companion with slow, thoughtful introductions, he would likely do best as the only dog or with an experienced owner willing to manage and build positive relationships. Cody does have some resource guarding behaviors, particularly around items he finds valuable. With clear boundaries, management, and positive reinforcement training, this is something his future family can help him work through. If you’re searching for a loyal adventure buddy who just needs the right environment and understanding to shine, Cody may be the dog you’ve been waiting for.Fun fact: Cody is DNA tested! His results are Russell terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, Mountain Cur, & Great Pyrenees mix!
