To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Sol and Comet are a 9 week old bonded sister-brother pair of kittens. Here’s what their foster humans say about them: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Sol: Very, very sweet natured and loves her foster humans. She’s almost always the first to greet us when we enter the room! She loves to be pet and playtime. Comet: Adorable little guy who is a little quieter than his sister but has massively grown in confidence. He LOVES churu and is a master of wand toy play. He takes cues from his sister Sol, so it’s important that these two go home together. Although they may initially look alike, they are actually easy to tell apart – Sol has spots and Comet has stripes. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes! Sol really loves to be pet, and will purr when petted. Comet has recently learned that petting is enjoyable and will now approach us on his own steam for petting. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? We’ve been petting them on their faces, heads and bodies. We have also been working on touching their paws to make it easier to trim their nails. Sol enjoys a belly rub. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? We have not yet tried petting Comet’s belly. Does the cat come on your lap? Yes! They will both come on your lap for play and petting. Does the cat like to be held? They are young and get wriggly quickly, especially Comet, but both are used to being held. Does the cat sleep in your bed? They stay in the foster room and have not had the opportunity to do so. Does the cat seek your attention? YES! They enjoy human interaction. Does the cat like to play? A BIG YES!! They are both very play motivated. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Wand toy play is a must for these too! They can play for ages and never get bored. They also enjoy crinkle balls and playing with each other. How vocal is the cat? Very quiet, both. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Sol will make cute chirps and purrs. Comet will make little chirps too and occasionally give the cutest little hisses when he is surprised by something – it’s adorable but getting much less frequent. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? They like to climb the vertical scratcher, but have not yet figured out using it for its intended purpose. Their adopters will need to help them learn what are appropriate and inappropriate surfaces are once they figure out how to scratch. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, they are litter box trained. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Fancy Feast kitten wet food 3 times a day and Science Diet kitten dried food free feeding. Is the cat picky about food? No What is the cat's favorite treat? Comet is hugely motivated by Churu. Sol will eat Churu sometimes, but not with the enthusiasm of Comet! Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Not intentionally, but being young kittens their claws are sharp and they can leave scratches when playing. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No, they are very good about not thinking hands are chew toys. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? They have done great with new people, both allowing pets and engaging in play. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Comet likes to chase his own tail! Sol does an adorable crouch and butt wiggle before pouncing on Comet. Sol also likes to “help supervise” when you scoop the litter box. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? They’re an adorable pair who play hard, nap hard. It’s been incredibly rewarding to help teach them that humans are not scary and earn their trust. They are two very sweet natured yet playful kittens who will bring endless smiles and happiness to their forever home. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? They were initially undersocialized when they arrived, having been born outside on the streets. It’s taken patience and love to bring them out of their shells, and they are now trusting of us and living their best kitten lives!
