***Currently in Vancouver Island!!! Meet Yuna, an affectionate 8-year-old spayed female Welsh Corgi with a charming brown and white coat, weighing 9kg. Rescued from a city shelter just in time before euthanasia, Yuna is now ready to find a loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by care and comfort. Yuna is a true social butterfly with people — she happily approaches strangers to nuzzle up and is very open to being petted. While she might resist a little when being picked up, she enjoys grooming and being touched. She’s friendly with both women and men, though she hasn’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet. Once she feels close to someone, she’ll even roll over and show her belly, and she can be comfortably lifted with arms under her belly. With other dogs, Yuna is polite but independent. She’ll greet unfamiliar dogs with a sniff but prefers to go her own way rather than engage in play. She currently lives peacefully in a group setting, though she generally favors solitude. If another dog is overly energetic or provocative, Yuna may push back — especially if she’s feeling jealous while being held by a person. In those moments, she may let out a growl to express her feelings. When it comes to cats, Yuna can get a little excited if she spots one on a walk, but she’ll follow your lead and move along without issue. A proper home cat test is available if needed. Yuna has an excitable personality and frequently pants, which may be a part of her nature or a response to stimulation. She was abandoned at the shelter after having vocal cord surgery, so while she does bark occasionally, her bark is relatively quiet. Despite her age, Yuna still enjoys spending time outdoors, and after getting some fresh air, she is content to rest calmly. She’s a fan of walks and is especially interested in sniffing around — expect lots of start-and-stop exploration! She’s experienced on the leash and enjoys following her human’s pace. Yuna generally only goes potty outside, and she’s perfectly capable of getting in and out of cars on her own. While she currently doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety, it may develop once she’s the center of attention in a solo-adopter household. She may have lost her voice, but not her spirit — Yuna is full of love and personality, just waiting for her forever person. Send in your application today!!!
