My story

Hi there, I`m Blackie, a handsome and playful 1-year-old male cat. I`m a black domestic shorthair. I came to Ames Animal Shelter through their Third Chance program from another shelter on 06/25/25, where I was picked up as a stray in a different community.I absolutely adore snuggling up close to your face and spending quality time with my humans. Don`t mistake me for a couch potato, I`m an active and playful boy who loves nothing more than chasing feather toys, sparkle balls, and wand toys. The ideal home for me would be with someone who can give me all the snuggles and playtime! I`m an extroverted social butterfly who loves being the center of attention, so I would thrive in a household where I can interact with my humans and be part of the family. My personality can be summed up in four words - affectionate, curious, friendly, and playful. As a lover of all things fun, I enjoy the company of other cats and currently live in a community room with my feline friends.
