My story

LUCAS is a fun little firecracker of a dog looking for a home. He's cute as a button. Lucas is a mixed breed boy, our best guess is some type of Beagle mix, maybe a little pointer or any number of other breeds. Lucas is your basic Heinz 57 varieties-type mixed breed dog. He's friendly and silly and likes to meet new people. He can be shy in unfamiliar surroundings but is so happy to follow and play with other dogs. Lucas is around 1 year old and much smaller than he looks in photos -- he's fully grown at just 26 pounds. He has a medium length coat and the sweetest smile. Lucas loves playtime and gets zoomie fever in the yard. He loves to play fetch and find sticks. When playtime is over he loves a good belly rub. Lucas loves other dogs and is best suited to a home with another friendly, playful doggo and a physically-fenced yard suitable for running and funning. He's housebroken and well behaved in his crate. If you'd like to meet Lucas, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Lucas at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
