My story

Meet Sweet P – A Resilient, Loving Girl Looking for Her Forever Home Sweet P is a truly special rescue with a heartwarming story. She was one of my very first TNR (trap-neuter-return) cats, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring. Despite being shot with a BB gun and originally scheduled for a front leg amputation, Sweet P has made a full recovery with lots of love and care. She still has all four legs, shows no limp, and you’d never guess what she’s been through, she runs, hops, and plays like any happy, healthy cat. Is she affectionate? Very much so! Sweet P loves rubbing against your legs and flopping over for pets. She seeks out attention and enjoys human company. While she’s not a lap cat and hasn’t been picked up much (she may scratch if startled), she has come a long way in trusting people and continues to grow more comfortable every day. Is she shy? She can be a little wary in new situations, but with time, patience, and some tasty snacks, she warms up and shows her playful, loving side. What are her favorite toys? She’ll chase almost anything: strings, crinkly toys, bags, or anything that moves. She has a great time making her own fun and is always curious and active. What’s a typical day like for Sweet P? Now a fully indoor cat, she spends her day lounging in sunny spots, playing with toys, and checking in for rubs and attention. She enjoys following her human around and being part of the household in her own independent way. Is she up to date on vaccinations? Yes, she was fully vaccinated and vetted at the time of her TNR. How is she with other cats or dogs? She used to play with other cats in her feral colony, so with a proper introduction, she may do well with a calm, respectful cat. But she would likely be happiest as the only pet. She is afraid of dogs and should go to a dog-free home. Sweet P is a survivor with a gentle heart. She’s not the kind of cat to be carried around or cuddled (yet), but she will reward you with affection in her own way, with head bumps, happy rolls, and playful energy. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion with personality and resilience, Sweet P could be the perfect match. Sweet P is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy For more information regarding our Courtesy Posts, see www.thedancingcat.org/courtesy-posts  July 3, 2025, 7:39 pm
