My story

🌟 Meet Ozzy – Your Next Best Friend! 🐾 Ozzy is the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being near. At 4 years old and 80 pounds of pure affection, this goofy, gentle, water-loving Lab mix is ready to find a forever home where he can be part of the action—and your heart. He was originally purchased from a breeder but found himself surrendered to a shelter due to a family move. Now thriving in foster care, Ozzy has shown that he’s the total package: affectionate, playful, smart, and loyal. He’s a master of the classics—sit, stay, down, shake, and “get your ball”—and he’s more than happy to show off if you’ve got treats. Ozzy’s favorite things include playing fetch (especially with tennis balls), long sniffy walks, car rides, snuggling on the couch, and sticking his whole head in the water bowl just for fun. He even drops his ball in the water bowl like it’s a game of his own creation. Oz is a loyal sidekick who’ll follow you from room to room, curl up at your feet while you work, and keep you company through lazy mornings and evening strolls. He barks at sirens (and sometimes lets out a dramatic howl) and has a whole lot of love to give. While he hasn’t had much exposure to other dogs or cats in the home, he’s made friends through the fence and is curious (and a little vocal) when seeing new animals out and about. He recently did well with 12-year-old twin boys too! Ozzy is crate trained, house trained, and fine being left home for a few hours, but more than anything—he just wants to be with you. Whether you're lounging, hiking, or just grabbing coffee from the kitchen, Ozzy is happiest at your side. He’d thrive in an active home that will embrace his fun-loving energy, be patient with his excitement, and give him the companionship he craves. If you’ve been dreaming of a dog who’s equal parts playful goofball and loyal cuddlebug, Ozzy might just be your perfect match. Ready to let Ozzy bounce into your heart (and maybe onto your couch)? Reach out to learn more about adopting this lovable guy. Must Knows: Ozzy, 4 years old, male, 80lbs Kids 8+ Dog friendly - limited exposure Cat friendly unknown Athletic boy but can definitely settle down when needed Would thrive on a couple of 30 min walks per day and playtime in the yard Interested in adopting, Complete our adoption application or contact your Adoption Coordinator! https://www.labrescue-richmond.com/adoption-process

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ozzy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
