My story

How this pet arrived: Fig was brought in by a Humane Law Officer on June 19, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Introducing Fig, a gorgeous girl with a soulful gaze and a heart that's just waiting to bloom. Though her past is a bit of a mystery, Fig is ready to write her next chapter with someone who understands the value of patience, quiet companionship, and trust built over time. She's not the kind of dog looking for a whirlwind of new experiences right out of the gate-what she truly craves is a calm, steady environment where she can take her time to settle in and decompress. Fig can be fearful around new people and places, so it's important to go slow and let her take the lead when it comes to physical affection. She prefers people who respect her boundaries and check in for consent-look for signs like leaning in or gentle nudges before initiating pets. Once she feels safe, she can also get a little bouncy and jumpy when excited-it's her quirky way of showing she's happy, but it's best handled with calm redirection and structure. A quiet home is ideal for this queen. She would do best as your one and only pet and isn't looking for the hustle and bustle of young children. The chaos of the shelter has been tough on her, and she dreams of soft beds, peaceful afternoons, and a human who will appreciate her at her own pace. With time and love, Fig will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Ready to give Fig the fairy tale ending she deserves? Bring a leash, a collar, and a whole lot of love-she's waiting to meet her person today. Shy/Fearful Dog: Fig requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 51.5 Age: 1yrs 6mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fig, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
