Daisy

My story

Daisy is a special gal- a survivor and fighter. From being found as a stray on the streets of Texas dragging her back end, to testing positive for heartworm. She is strong and taking on her challenges one at a time - kicking a$$ and taking names. She is guessed to be 4-5 years old and weighs 7 lbs. We discovered her mobility challenges stem from having been shot by a BB which is lodged in her spine. Fortunately, she is walking really well now, she can wag her tail, and has complete bowel and bladder control. She is basically a "normal" dog, but she moves a little slower and isn't as agile. She isn't able to do stairs or jump, but she is the perfect size for carrying! Daisy is going through heartworm treatment and will have her final injection on July 24th. We would love to find her a home before then so she can recover in the comfort in her new home with lots of individualized love and attention. Her recovery will entail very strict exercise restrictions. Daisy's adoption donation of $395 helps cover the cost of her medical care. Adopters must live within a 1.5 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks and a home visit is required.
