My story

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Nesa is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Our vets noted that Nesa has an undershot jaw. This is likely the result of poor breeding. Nesa arrived in rescue from poor conditions. She and all the dogs in the home have been proactively treated for mange. Our best guess is that Nesa is a maltese, but she came from a puppy mill where there were also chihuahuas and pomeranians. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 7.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Smart and attentive by nature, Nesa is looking for a human who gets her—a partner with a thoughtful mind, a kind heart, and maybe a bit of wit to match her own. She's not just another pretty face—she’s a thinker, a feeler, and a dog who knows who she is. Nesa LOVES other dogs and would absolutely enjoy a furry friend to romp and lounge with, but she’s also perfectly content to be the one and only princess of the palace. She’s adaptable, self-assured, and happy to go with the flow—as long as she gets to be part of the action. And when it comes to the home itself - Nesa says, “I’m easy.” Apartment - Fine. Townhouse - Lovely. House with a yard - Even better. Kids - Great. No kids - Cool. Lots of visitors - Bring ‘em. Peace and quiet - Perfect. Nesa is simply happy to be included, wherever life takes you, she wants to go with. Especially if it means she gets to watch it all go by. What is my personality like? Meet Nesa – A Bright Spirit with a Big Heart and a Love for Life. Nesa is one of those rare souls who’s just grateful to be here. After a rough start in life, she’s decided to take her past and turn it into power. Her resilience is unmatched, and she lives each day with a refreshing determination and joy that’s downright inspiring. To Nesa, every day is a gift—and she’s not about to waste it. Presents are precious in her eyes, even if they are Christmas socks. She greets the world with her head held high, meeting new experiences with a “let’s go” attitude. Sure, leashes aren’t her favorite just yet, but she’s observant, clever, and eager to please—so with a little patience, she’ll get the hang of it in no time. You can practically see the gears turning in her head as she takes in everything around her. Nesa would love a front porch or a window to watch the world from. If you’re looking for a loyal, spirited, intelligent companion who believes every day deserves a tail wag and a watchful observing eye, Nesa is ready. She’s already done the hard part—surviving. Now she’s looking for someone to help her thrive. Maybe even someone who will read a book to her so she can learn even more! How do I act when I first meet new people? Nesa is as sweet and eager as she is small and cute.  Other tips and tidbits: Nesa is estimated at just over a year old. We celebrate her birthday 02/02/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
