Shiloh von Siegen is a gorgeous 15 month-old long haired German Shepherd. Shiloh von Siegen is a gorgeous 12 month old long haired German Shepherd. At just under 100 pounds, he has such a big, goofy charm. He is so great to take out of the kennel for a breather, loping along next to you like a pony; he just wants to lean up against you and be close. At the rescue he has a friendly demeanor with everyone he meets, and exudes happiness when out for walks. Shiloh is looking for an adult home with confident people who help him feel like he has a pack leader. Another dog would be good for him, so he doesn't feel he is the only one looking out for you. He is medium energy, described as "mellow with bursts of energy" and treat-motivated, which he takes gently. This big boy is housebroken, knows Sit and, as mentioned, walks nicely on leash, a very good thing given his size. He is also great around other dogs on walks, and very good in playgroups, greeting dogs well and even playing a bit. He says no to cats however. Shiloh is such an incredible dog, he just needs an owner who will guide him, in return he will become your soulmate. Come meet our big handsome boy! Rescued from the East Valley animal shelter. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Shiloh von Siegen YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shiloh von Siegen, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
