Click here to learn more about the adoption process!Simba was in the back with large pupils but quickly came forward when the assessor approached. He quickly enjoyed petting, leaning in for cheek rubs and head-bunting with a slightly swishy tail. He pushed to come out of the kennel and looked briefly toward the cat in the neighboring kennel. Then, after pulling back inside the kennel, he gave a single hiss and appeared to get a little overstimulated. He pulled back from petting, but then when given squeeze-up, allowed more petting on his head and along his back. A partial pick-up was attempted, but then he started to growl and the pick-up wasn't completed. He's a sweet cat who tolerates a limited amount of handling and needs to be given time to adjust to his new home.Simba interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. We recommend that Simba go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in overstimulated cat behavior.A volunteer writes: Simba is a five-year-old ginger guy who's looking for love. This is a handsome young man with fetchingly long toes and a quiet charm who'll add a lovely touch of cinnamon to your home. Simba enjoys rolling around with a catnip-sprayed toy, rolling his head around it and being petted pretty much anywhere he can manage to push toward his kennel door. He first pressed his little face toward me for some scratches, but then turned around for a thorough back-scratch. I believe this is a young man who would love some long-term TLC.
