Meet Sammy – The Adventure-Ready Lap Dog! Sammy is a 12-pound, low-shedding mix who is equal parts playful, cuddly, and full of love! He came to us from a local shelter in rough shape—overgrown, matted, and absolutely terrified. But underneath it all, he’s a sweet, affectionate pup just waiting for the right home to help him continue building confidence and truly shine. While his exact age is a guess (the shelter estimated 5 years old, but his foster thinks he could be closer to 2), one thing is certain—Sammy has plenty of energy! He would thrive in an active home that enjoys long walks, hikes, and plenty of playtime. He’s also a fetch-loving superstar who will happily chase after a ball and bring it back for more! Sammy adores other dogs and loves the dog park. He would do best as a second or third pup in a multi-dog home, where he can follow their lead and build confidence. While he’s shy at first, once he warms up, he’s an absolute cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to snuggle up with his people. Because he takes some time to feel secure, he’d be happiest in a calm, adult home without young children. He’s doing well with house training and will flourish in a home that provides a consistent routine and lots of love. He’ll also need regular grooming to keep his beautiful coat in great shape. With patience, kindness, and the right environment, Sammy will make an amazing, devoted companion. If deemed a good fit, the foster parent will reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet or seek additional information. In the event your application isn't accepted or might be a better fit for another dog, we will provide feedback and suggest alternative matches. All our dogs undergo comprehensive vetting, including spaying/neutering, microchipping, DHPP, flea treatment, deworming, and Rabies vaccinations. Additional vet care is provided as needed based on their requirements. The adoption fee for this dog is $350 serving as a non-refundable donation.
