My story

Hi, I’m Nola, and I’ve been waiting for you.I came to the shelter with my siblings, and we were all scared. Not just of the new smells or strange sounds, but of people. Somewhere in our past, we learned to be cautious. But even then, something inside me whispered, go see for yourself.So I did. I stepped forward. I met kind eyes and gentle hands, and I started to believe that maybe the world wasn’t so scary after all.Now, I’m learning what it means to be loved. I come when called. I take treats oh-so-gently. I’m learning to sit, and I walk like a dream on leash. In the yard, I explore with curiosity, but I always circle back to check in, just to be sure I haven’t lost the person who matters most. I’m 2 years old and a petite 41 pounds. I get along well with other dogs and I’m curious, but respectful, around cats. With proper introductions and a little time, I think I could really fit in. I just need someone patient, someone kind, someone who understands that trust is something you earn, not demand.Right now, I’m in a part of the shelter that isn’t open to the public, so you won’t see me when you walk through. But I’m here. If you ask to meet me, someone will bring me out to meet you! I’ll be waiting, heart open, hoping you’re the one. I’ve done the hard part. I’m ready to live. I’m ready to love.
