Cookie aka Duke

My story

Duke's former owner states he knows "sit", "lay down", and "stop". Duke is housetrained. They said he loves going on walks, enjoys belly rubs, and is friendly and playful with children of all ages. "I visited Cookie today 7/12/25 to take some photos and have some fun in the yard. He seemed a little unsure of the leash but perked up once it was on. He walked extremely well on the leash out to the yard, and would pause politely while I opened doors for him. Once in the yard, he immediately began "rounds" of sniffing the perimeter, tree, and potty spots. His long snoot is fashionable and functional! After a few minutes of sniffing, I crouched and cooed at him, and he trotted right over to me. A side note: Cookie trots with his legs high up just like a very fancy horse. It's adorable! For pets, he preferred to lean his whole body against me for belly rubs and eventually sat down to relax. He seemed very chill and was happy to sit and cuddle. Very good boy!" - MAS Staff Member "On 7/12/25 I visited Cookie aka Duke in his kennel. He was on the opposite side and I tossed treats. He would not cross and showed no interest in treats. I moved to the other side and he greeted me with a low/slow tail wag. I offered treats and he showed some interest, but did not eat them. I opened the door and he seemed much more interested in pets/love than treats. Timid, but very sweet loving boy. Video uploaded"
