Meet Juniper This brindle beauty is just 10-12 weeks old, weighs 18 lbs, and is already full of sass, smarts, and sweetness. Juniper was found wandering alone along a busy highway in West Palm Beach — but you’d never guess it from her joyful puppy energy! She’s believed to be a hound mix and is growing into her long legs and big personality. She has the cutest little puppy dog eyes and is basically a snuggly Precious Moments figurine. This clever girl is already working on housebreaking and crate training in foster care. She’ll need a family ready to keep up with her progress — and maybe reinforce a few barriers too, since Juniper is a tiny Houdini when it comes to playpens and baby gates. She is great with alone time in her crate and settles quickly once she gets over the initial FOMO. When left alone she is great - she will need a family that continues to show her hope great alone time can be so she only gets more and more confident. She loves her crate when there are snacks and puzzle toys involved and is eager to learn. She’s food-motivated, curious, and thrives when her mind is engaged — the perfect match for someone who enjoys training and enrichment games. She has relatively good accuracy with a pee pee pad and has gone potty outside while with her Floridian foster family. In NYC she is not yet vaccinated enough to go one sidewalk walkies BUT we have no doubt that with a consistent schedule this girl will catch out quick - she is very food motivated and eager to please. Juniper will likely grow into a medium-large sized dog and would do well in a home that can offer consistency, patience, and playtime. She loves her adult dog foster siblings and would do well with a playmate but also does great with solo play! She is very interested in her foster cat siblings and actively tries to engage them in play. They are less interested in her but she takes the cues well when they tell her to back off. She would likely irritate a senior furry sibling but could do well as long as she has adequate structure to learn boundaries, cues, and get her energy out in better ways. She’d love a family with kids who understand puppy behavior and boundaries. She is fully of fun loving sugary sweet puppy energy and is ready for a family to take her home. Current on vaccinations for DHPP, and bordetella. Microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Juniper is scheduled for her spay and rabies vaccine on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at ASPCA - Queens Community Vet Clinic (LIC). Should she be adopted before then, her adopters will be responsible for bringing her to and from this appointment. Waggytail Rescue will cover the cost of this neuter appointment but any other vet appointments will be the adopters responsibility. To apply for Juniper, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application.
