Delaney

My story

Delaney is a gorgeous Maine Coon mix that literally wandered into a San Diego residents house through a doggy door. The homeowner believes she may have had a guardian because she was well groomed and had no issue walking in. However any efforts to find her human failed. Delaney is still not sure about people. After a few days in foster, she would vocalize the desire for attention and started rubbing her face all over the cat tree and enclosure! We were able to get a quick head pet in there, but she wasn't too sure how she liked it and gave a nail-less swat to let her know she wasn't ready for that. Her future human will need to be patient with her and give her a quiet space to blossom on her own terms! Although she isn't sure how she feels about people yet, she really seems to love other cats! She would chirp at the fosters cats, had no issue going nose to nose with them, and would even try to follow them around. Delaney will need some time in her new home, but we have no doubt that she will form a special bond with the right person! Delaney will be back at the shelter and available for adoption on 7/5!July 3, 2025, 7:18 pm
