My story

Meet Turnip – A Thoughtful, Active Pup Looking for His People! Turnip is a handsome, high-spirited guy with a sensitive side and a whole lot of love to give once he feels safe and comfortable. When you first meet him, you`ll notice his excitement—he greets people with tail wags and eager energy, ready to go for a walk or just enjoy some quality time with a familiar friend. While Turnip is affectionate with those he knows (he loves to lean in for pets!), he`s also a thoughtful communicator. He’s not a fan of being fussed over too much, especially when it comes to handling sensitive areas like his ears and feet. When he’s had enough, he’ll let you know with gentle signals like walking away, pacing, or giving a few full-body shake offs to cope with the stress. With patience, respect for his boundaries, and a bond built on trust, Turnip will thrive. This guy is a foodie at heart—treat motivated, gentle when taking snacks, and a lightning-fast eater (slow feeders are a must!). He’s got great potential for learning and already knows Sit, so training with treats will be a breeze. But be warned: Turnip is a known counter-surfer and may raid your trash or swipe food off the coffee table if you’re not looking!Turnip will do best in an active home that understands how to meet the daily needs of a smart, busy pup. A few walks won’t cut it—he’s looking for hikes, jogs, scent games, puzzle feeders, and enrichment that keeps both his body and mind satisfied. Without that, he may get into mischief as he tries to make his own fun. When it comes to other animals, Turnip has shown polite interest in dogs and can likely live with another well-matched, social, and respectful canine companion after a proper introduction. Cats? Maybe—with very slow introductions and only if they’re dog-savvy and keep their distance. If his energy isn’t well-managed, he may see them as a fun distraction rather than roommates.Due to his sensitivities around body handling, we’re recommending kids 8+ and a meet-and-greet with the whole family to make sure it’s a good match for everyone involved.Turnip may have started life as a stray, but he’s ready to find his forever home—a place where he’s not just housed but truly understood and included. With the right people, he’s going to blossom into an amazing companion full of affection, curiosity, and adventure.Ready to turn your life around with Turnip? Come meet this special guy—you might just
