My story

We'd like to tell you a bit about Nikki, one of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet but who seems to be flying under the radar. We'll admit it: Nikki doesn't have one of those faces that makes you say "awwww, how adorable". It's probably a valid saying that she has a case of "resting fussy face". Looks can be SOOOOO deceiving! Nikki might look like she’s silently roasting you… but really, she’s plotting her next cuddle session. This lovely girl wants nothing more than to crawl into your lap and serenade you with some of the heartiest purrs you'll ever hear. Nikki is an affectionate lap cat who just wants to be close to her person, even if her expression says she’s judging your life choices. Look closer and don't pass her by! Nikki is just waiting to bring happiness to your life. Nikki was surrendered to the East County Animal Shelter by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan who told us Nikki was too friendly to be left to fend for herself. Nikki's sweet savior had cats of her own and just wasn't in a position to take in another, but she went the extra mile to make sure Nikki was in a safe place. Nikki was then taken into the Allie’s Pals Foster program. Nikki is full of youthful energy and charm. She enjoys playing with her mouse toy and somehow manages to get it into some pretty interesting knots around objects in the house. Sometimes she’s so excited for toys that she even knocks over the entire basket of kitten toys. Her fur is sooo soft and she's fastidious about her personal hygiene, giving herself plenty of cat baths. Nikki gets along great with the other cats in her foster home, and we think she would do well in a home with feline friends to play or hang out with. Nikki has not yet met a dog while in our care, but she's spent plenty of time watching Animal Planet shows on TV. She's absolutely entranced with all of the shows except for the ones featuring angry fighting baboons. That particular show sent her running from the room!
