My story

Poor Aristotle has had a rough journey — he's been RETURNED… again. For the third time. Born to a feral mama cat (trapped on a porch awaiting her spay), Aristotle came into the world under less-than-ideal circumstances. He and his siblings were lovingly raised by fosters, and he was eventually adopted — along with his brother — into a wonderful home. But just a few months later, they were returned due to severe allergies. Aristotle was then adopted again as a solo cat, and we truly thought he was set for a long, happy bachelor life. But two years later, he was surrendered to a kill shelter for “behavioral issues” after a new roommate moved in — bringing their own cat. The details were vague, but the surrender form described him as: “A great dude” “Very gentle” “Loves to cuddle” “Lets you rub his belly and hold him like a baby” So… yeah, we’re chalking that one up to improper integration and human error . Next, Aristotle was adopted by a loving family with a senior dog and a young child — and for over a year, he did great. But after the dog passed away six months ago, things began to shift. Whether it’s grief, loneliness, or understimulation, he’s become increasingly reactive to animals outside or even on TV. When triggered, he sometimes misdirects that energy with overstimulation or occasional aggression. His adopters love him deeply, but with a young child in the home, it’s become too difficult to manage his unpredictable moods safely. Aristotle has now started medication, and we’re keeping a close eye on his progress. But he’s in urgent need of a foster home — and, hopefully, a forever family that can offer him the stability, patience, and love he deserves. July 9, 2025, 6:07 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Aristotle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
