My story

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Fiona is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Fiona arrived in rescue from poor conditions. She and all the dogs in the home have been proactively treated for mange.  Weight: 51 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No, though Fiona would love one. She knows nothing about walking on a leash. What kind of home would be best for me? This beautiful girl is looking for guidance, kindness, and someone to show her the ropes. The world is still big and new to Fiona, and she’s learning day by day how to trust, how to enjoy, and how to just be a dog. She’s not looking for perfection—just someone who will go slow, offer reassurance, and let her blossom at her own pace. Fiona would flourish in a calm home with someone who is around more often than not. She deeply craves companionship, and though she’s okay being on her own for a little while, she’s not the kind of dog who can be left alone all day. Another calm, confident dog in the home would be ideal, as Fiona watches and learns from her canine friends. But if she’s your one and only, she’ll need a family that’s committed to giving her time, attention, and consistency as she grows into herself. More than anything, Fiona is looking for connection—for someone to look at her and finally say, “You’re home now. You’re safe. You’re loved.” She’s ready to give her heart to someone who will love her patiently, gently, and completely. What is my personality like? Meet Fiona – A Gentle Soul Ready to Learn What Love Really Feels Like - Leash in Mouth. Sweet Fiona is a golden retriever with a heart full of hope and a quiet, gentle spirit that’s just beginning to unfold. After spending her life never truly knowing what it means to be a part of a loving family, Fiona is now searching for something she’s never had—but has always deserved: a loving, patient home to call her own. Fiona loves her crate—it’s her little sanctuary—and will need a family that’s willing to provide her with a designated space where she can feel safe and secure. It’s her comfort zone, and it gives her the quiet time she needs to recharge and feel grounded. And here’s a quirky little thing we absolutely adore: Fiona doesn’t think leashes belong around her neck… they belong in her mouth. That’s right—this golden girl loves to carry her leash like a proud parade marshal. (She insists she can walk herself, thank you very much.) It’s her way of participating and feeling in control, and honestly, it’s as adorable as it sounds. If you’re the kind of person who finds beauty in quiet progress, who believes in second chances, and who has time, love, and maybe a leash to share—Fiona is waiting for you. How do I act when I first meet new people? Fiona may be a tad shy when she first meets you, but this beautiful girl will warm her way into your heart in no time at all! Other tips and tidbits: Fiona is estimated at 5 years old. We celebrate her birthday 06/05/2020. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. July 8, 2025, 3:20 pm
