My story

Hi, Im Elara a 3-year-old Maltese/Yorkie mix with a little body, a big bark, and a dont-rush-me attitude.I was found as a stray, and the shelter was a scary place for me. I came in completely overwhelmed and shut down. I'm still learning how to feel safe and trust people it takes me time to warm up, and Im not the cuddly type (at least not right now). I can be growly when Im unsure, and I need a home that understands that Im a work in progress.But hey Im also smart, spunky, and I love to move. Ive got a rowdy, vocal play style and would thrive in a home where I can burn off energy and have structure. Ive got leash walks down, Im potty trained, crate trained, and I did okay at the groomer (though trimming my face? Still not a fan).I need to be the only dog in the home Im not looking for a canine roommate, just patient humans who will give me the time and space to come around on my own terms. If youre dog-savvy and like a project with personality, I might just be your girl.
