This gorgeous, three-year-old Australian Shepherd/ Collie mix is everything you’d expect from two of the smartest breeds out there - brilliant, eager to please and full of personality. Hopper thrives when he's given a job to do or puzzle to solve. He's also food motivated, curious and learns new things in a flash - making him a great candidate for advanced training. If you’re looking for a dog that will impress you with his smarts every single day, this is your guy. Hopper is also incredibly loving and protective of his people. He forms strong bonds with his family and loves being included in whatever you’re doing, whether it’s hiking, training sessions or just relaxing on the couch. He will thrive with an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures and understands the value of structure and routine. That said, Hopper isn’t a dog for first-time owners. He needs someone confident and dog savvy. He can be a little reactive at times and has some “stranger danger” tendencies, but it’s simply because he hasn’t had many opportunities to meet new people. However, with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement he continues to make HUGE improvements. And once he trusts you, he's ALL IN - LOYAL, GOOFY, AFFECTIONATE AND SO MUCH FUN!
