My story

Meet Cain !! ➡️Yes it’s a frenchie but PLEASE READ HIS ENTIRE POST!! If it’s clear you didn’t read it we will know you’re not a serious adopter. ⬅️ This guy is such a cutie. He came to us with his brother Able who was already adopted. He and his brother were yet more French bulldogs dumped off by a breeder. Thankful an amazing woman purchased them and brought them to us so they could live in loving pet homes and not just be a money maker for someone. Cain is a 1 year old male French Bulldog. He is a small guy weighing only 16 pounds and should not grown much more. He will be neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives. He did great at the vet. Things you should know and fully understand before applying: Bulldogs are expensive. It’s just how it is. They can have health problems and various vet needs throughout their lives. This breed can cost way more than a regular breed to care for properly. If you can’t honestly say you’re willing to provide that then consider picking one of our other lower maintenance dogs. He deserves a home that can give him anything and everything he needs. Due to his short nose, care needs to be taken that he doesn’t overheat. He can absolutely not be left outside alone. These dogs can easily die from heat or over exertion. So far Cain has been a loving and happy boy. He defiantly has some teenage energy and it does not appear he had much training prior to arriving here. He is learning but will need an owner that understands he is still very puppy like in his behaviors. Cain does really well leash walking and also car rides. He is crate trained and will sleep in the crate at night and during the work day. He does sometimes have a few vocal things to say to you when you put him in the crate but mostly it’s in the morning when he is not tired enough or ready to be put up. He will have some accidents if left longer than 5 hours but not always. He is still not completely potty trained when out of the crate. He is starting to learn the routine though and we think he will fully figure it out soon. He has done really well with Dogs of all sizes. However, he can be a little humper of the ladies. His upcoming neuter will help with that but if you have a female she may not like that much. He is very playful and really wants another doggie playmate to roughhouse with. He has never met cats so we do not know how he will do. He has done very well with children. He has no trouble meeting strangers and is a super sweet boy. Cain currently has a medium energy level. He loves to play with you or other dogs but he has a very low tolerance for the heat lately. He does well getting his energy out inside due to his compact size. His foster described him as a “busy” dog and said he will get into things when he is full of energy and you are not watching him. He would rather play than snuggle but does have his snuggly moments when he is tired. He has shown no aggression towards people. He has been fine sharing treats toys and food. His foster feeds all dogs separately so we are not sure how he would do with that. This little guy is so fun. He’s a great size and has a great personality. So far he’s been very healthy and easy going. Someone is going to get very lucky bringing this sweet boy into their family. If you’re experienced with bulldog breeds and are financially prepared for potential health issues then this awesome boy might be for you!! Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response message ourFacebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cain, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
