Hannah is a gentle, sweet-natured little lady who’s looking for a fresh start and a family to love her forever. She came to ACCT on July 9th after being surrendered to the police along with her canine companion, Hailey. Though her journey here wasn't the easiest, Hannah has remained calm, kind, and full of love. She loves nothing more than getting pets from her humans. This super-duper sweet girl has quickly captured hearts with her soft eyes and affectionate personality. Whether she’s leaning in for gentle pets or quietly soaking up the sunshine, Hannah’s calm and loving nature shines through. Now all she needs is a family to call her own. Come meet Hannah and see why everyone who meets her falls in love! She was quietly standing in front of her kennel and we easily leashed and exited her kennel and shelter. We took a nice walk along HPA and she showed me how calm and steady she is on leash. Her demeanor was calm and relaxed- low energy overall. We took a break in the shade on the steps of the nearby school & Hannah approached me for head & body pets. We enjoyed some scratches and pets with comfy medium energy. Hannah is a very sweet dog. Very well behaved. Back at shelter, Hannah entered her kennnel on her own, I cleaned up her poop in the kennel w/out issue, and she took treats nicely. Nice dog! Playgroup Notes 7/15/25: Hannah was very timid and soft going into the yard for playgroup. She was very stiff around other dogs, and would give subtle signals that she was uncomfortable. She started baring teeth, and then immediately escalated to overcorrection. She was removed from the yard. Staff 7/15/25: Hannah was nervous in her kennel with wide dilated eyes as i leashed her. she was still at the front and once secured came right out. Outside, she pulled minimally and was aloof. she sniffed around me curiously but otherwise ignored me. she allowed all handling when i called her over and gave me short lived mid level wags. she was nervous (hyper vigilantly looking around) of the cars passing by and the gates opening, retreating back to me. she showed no interest in any toys and was unsure the more she was outside. per day trip 7/13: We had the most perfect day with Hannah yesterday! Truly an amazing pup. I am attaching photos of the day (might be a few emails since the attachments are saying too large) and our notes on her are below. We would love to be kept up to date on her journey. Thank you for everything you do! Excellent on leash, super loose leash walker, keeps checking in. Ears looking super cute flopping in the wind. Took her to lowes, not phased by any of the noise there. Does well in the car. Loves to zoom and play fetch. Also likes to lie in the shade and snooze. Did not react to a single dog on walks even when they had strong reactions to her Did great with our niece and nephew age 11 and 7 Gave everyone she met a friendly and polite greeting, never jumping on them. Per Volunteer 7/13/25: When I approached her kennel, she was loosely standing with a tail wagging, waiting to greet me. Very loose as I looped my leash around her neck and she hopped right out of the kennel. She was a Dream on leash with absolutely no pulling and very checked in with her handler! She takes treats very gently out of your hand and seems pretty treat motivated. Met several dogs through the fence and had a neutral body with a still tail. Took her to the photoshoot and Allowed us to put a bandana and a headband on her with no issues. Loose and comfortable with new handlers and easily walked through the shelter and back to her kennel. Per staff 7/12/25: A volunteer brought Hannah into the office and she was super sweet - loose body, low wagging tail. She was a little timid and would come up to meet you with a lowered body, but she allowed all handling and petting. Such a sweet, dainty little lady!
