Long Term Foster for FeLV Cat Needed We pay the veterinary costs, food and supplies. You provide the love Rob is an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy when he feels safe and secure. He took a few months to let his guard down and show his true self with his rescuers. He needs a permanent home where he can decompress and take however long he needs to feel safe and loved. He's well worth the wait. Rob originally tested positive for Feline Leukemia on the SNAP test then negative on the IFA that detects the presence of virus particles within white blood cells. The vet told us to treat him as a FeLV cat. That just means to monitor for any symptoms of illness (as you would any cat) and get him medical care quickly due to his weaken immune system. Rob is great with passive cats but a slow introduction is always important. Cats have to have FeLV, be vaccinated for FeLV or be kept separate until (if ever) a possible negative test. We’re not sure how he’d do with dogs. ##2009710##
