My story

Birkenstock is a wildly affectionate, enthusiastic tabby and white lady who loves attention and lives life on her own terms. She’s the definition of a free spirit—doing what she wants, when she wants—and she’ll let you know exactly how she feels about it! She's front paw declawed, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. Birkenstock is considered special needs due to her sensitive skin and stomach. She’s on a special diet that she’ll likely need to stay on for life, and she also takes a daily probiotic (Metamucil), which can be added right into her food. We recommend a sensitive skin and stomach formula with the probiotic mixed in. Other than that, she’s the best little lady ever—full of love, full of life, and totally unforgettable. Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!! Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
