My story

Church is an amazingly good boy! He is a tad timid at first, but once he warms up to you he's the best lap dog there is. Even if he doesn't understand he isn't lap dog size. He knows his basics and has a moderately good recall. When Church plays with his foster siblings he will come mid play when called. Church also does well on a leash with minimal pulling, but once he gets to a certain point in his walk he will stop you for a quick gentle pet and kiss on the head before moving along. Loud noises don't seem to bother him, he doesn't move out of the way of the vacuum until prompted and the recent fireworks didn't bother him a bit! When he first came to us he was a little barkey with others, but the more comfortable he becomes the more the barking decreases. He doesn't bark at people trying to approach him on walks, but he will hide behind his foster mom and sit like the good boy he is and politely wait for her to finish her conversation before moving on. Housetrained: He hasn't had a single accident in the house since he's been with us and he does really well letting you know when he needs to go. Crate trained: He does well in the crate, his foster mom typically will open the door and he'll go in without her having to say a word. He will whine for a minute, but settles quickly and sleeps through the night. Dogs: Does great with other dogs. Cats: There is a cat in his foster home and he doesn't pay it any attention. Kids: He does well with the kids in the home and mostly ignores them. He doesn't get upset or react if they accidentally bump into him or if they give him affection. Church really is a good boy, and all of his friends in the neighborhood (dogs & humans) are more than happy to vouch for him!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Church, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
