How this pet arrived: Huckleberry was brought in by a community member on June 28, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Huckleberry! This charming pup came into our care as a stray, so we're still learning about all the things that make him special. What we do know is that Huckleberry is smart, playful, and has a real love for a good game of fetch - he'll even bring the ball back like a pro! He already knows "sit," "paw," and "down," and is eager to engage with his people in fun, active ways. Huckleberry can be sensitive with handling, especially in new or stressful situations like the vet, and has shown signs of discomfort when approached or touched by unfamiliar people, so he'll need a patient and understanding family willing to go slow and build trust over time. Because of his sensitivity, any kids in the home must be 8 or older and will need to meet Huckleberry prior to adoption. If you're looking for a smart, active pup who's still learning the ropes and just needs a gentle hand to guide him, Huckleberry might be your guy.
