My story

Micka is an energetic, affectionate pup who’s learning the ropes of home life and making incredible progress every day. He’s house-trained and a respectful and well-mannered houseguest, he doesn’t bark much, doesn’t chew furniture, and responds well to redirection. Micka isn’t a huge fan of his crate yet, but he’s getting there. Offer him a treat, and he’ll walk in, though he’ll try to sneak right back out if you’re not quick! At bedtime, he settles down with just a few whimpers and sleeps soundly through the night. On leash, Micka walks well, though he might do a few happy loops around you if given too much slack. He’s treat-motivated, knows “sit” and “lie down” (especially when he’s focused). He’s smart, quick to learn, and eager to please. He’s a social butterfly, especially when it comes to people. He recently attended a baseball tournament and confidently greeted kids ranging from 4 to 13 years old. While a bit excited (especially around little ones), just eager to soak up the attention and love. Micka currently lives with two adult husky mixes and gets along well with them. He’s still learning to read social cues from older dogs, but he’s making progress with gentle guidance. He thrives with dog companions and especially loves a good game of tag or roughhousing in the yard. His play style includes bouncing like a bunny and doing adorable pounces, and he’ll tap your arm (or another pup) with his paw to say, “Let’s play!” While not a big cuddler, Micka is deeply affectionate, he loves giving kisses, following you from room to room, and leaning against your leg before sliding into his signature belly-up pose for pets. He’s playful, confident, social, and full of charm. And those head tilts when you call his name? Absolutely heart-melting. His favorite toys are durable chews, like nylon or rubbery sensory toys. He’s active, but not over the top for a pup his age, after a burst of play, he’ll often retreat to quietly chew a toy or just take in the world around him. He’s not a current fan of long stints in the crate. He’ll benefit from continued training to build on his impressive foundation and from an environment that encourages both play and structure. He’d love a dog sibling (or a few! - not required) but would also do well in an active home with engaged humans to keep him busy. Micka is truly one of a kind. He’s sweet, silly, soulful, and smart, all wrapped into one irresistible pup. If you’re looking for a companion who will bring joy, laughter, and loyalty into your life, Micka is your guy.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Micka, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
