My story

Meet JR! Your New Best Friend in the Making! JR is a young pup with an old soul and he’s ready to start his next chapter with a forever family who will love him the way he deserves. Found as a stray in Wiggins, JR arrived at HSSM with no collar, no tags, and no microchip. Sadly, no one came to claim this sweet, shy boy. But from the moment he walked through our doors, we knew he had so much love to give. At first, JR was nervous, unsure of shelter life, and not too thrilled about the leash. But with a little patience, plenty of belly rubs, and a few well earned treats, this hound has truly blossomed! He now looks forward to walks in the sunshine, playing fetch like a champ, and soaking up all the love he can get. He’s even mastered basic commands like “sit” and is eager to learn more especially if treats are involved! JR is a perfect mix of playful and affectionate. Whether he’s zooming around outside or curled up in your lap for a movie night, he’s happiest just being with his people. JR is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and will be neutered upon adoption (if not already). Let’s not keep this brave, loving boy waiting any longer.
