My story

Tetra is a gentle giant with soft puppy-dog eyes, a winning smile, and a heart made of pure mush. From the moment you meet him, he’s all about the snuggles! Climbing into your lap, curling into a ball, and soaking up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. He’s easy to leash, house-trained, and walks well on his leash. Though he’s not much for toys, Tetra is highly treat-motivated (once he finds one he likes!) and already knows “sit.” He returns to his kennel like a pro and shows polite curiosity around other dogs, wagging his tail and keeping a loose, friendly posture. Tetra can get a little wiggly and mouthy when he’s excited from all the love, but it’s all part of his big-hearted charm. He is easily redriected and with the right treats, will be happy to learn a few manners! If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy who just wants to be near you and soak up the love, Tetra is your guy. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally and dropped submissively to the floor for affection SOCIABILITY : Tetra is a gentle giant, jumping into my lap and cuddling up in tight as he can balls to fit on the same bench as me. he allowed all handling and was the biggest cuddle bug, liking to nibble on my face and gave lots of slobbery kisses. he can get a bit riled up with affection, nibbling harder and pushing his body into you. PLAY & TOYS: no interest -- wanted to cuddle DOG INTERACTION: He sniffed dogs curiously through the gate with a loose body and low wagging tail. RETURNING TO KENNEL: He walked right into his kennel without issue COLOR LEVEL: Gold 07/17/2025 volunteer notes: Tetra is such an absolute love bug. I had such a hard time getting photos of him because all he wanted was to stand next to me and lean against my leg. He loves back scratches and head scratches, and was picky about treats but seemed motivated by the ones he did like. Seems to know “sit”, and was pumped about getting outside to do his business so likely house-trained.
