My story

Looking for a bombproof, drama free queen to rule your castle? Laya is basically the sweet old lady on your block who’s seen it all, done it all, and now just wants to enjoy her snacks and stories in peace. Laya gives zero barks about the chaos of the world. Cats? Fine. Kids? Sure, bring them. Other dogs? Cool, though she doesn’t need a doggy entourage to live her best life. In her life before rescue, Laya lived with dogs, cats, and kids, and did wonderfully. Her first foster home confirmed that she was a calm, steady companion in a full house. In her most recent foster home, there were a few signs of reactivity when people roughhoused and some potential resource guarding with other dogs. Because of that, we think she may be a better fit for a home with older children and adults that will provide her structure that she needs as she navigates learning a new home after losing her stable home of 8 years. Her hobbies include eating twice a day like clockwork, accepting all the pets like it’s her full time job, taking long sniffy strolls, and logging a solid 18 hours of snoozing, with bonus snoring and dream, chasing squirrels included. She takes treats gently, knows how to sit, lay down, and shake like a proper Southern grandma, and will supervise your chores with quiet, judgmental stares. No need to kennel her, but she’s fine with it if that’s your routine. She doesn’t bark when you leave, and fireworks? No big deal. Laya is an 8 year old, medium sized dalmatian mix with a heart of gold and a snout full of wisdom. She’s spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vetting.
