My story

At 7 years old, Mya is ready to finally live the good life she’s always deserved. This medium sized sweetheart found herself in a Kansas shelter, abandoned with her litter of puppies. Though a little sickly and worn down when she arrived, her gentle soul and quiet strength was evident from the start. A heartworm diagnosis might have slowed others down, but not Mya. She breezed through treatment like she knew her happy ending was finally on the horizon. Since arriving in rescue, Mya has been soaking up the love (and a few extra snacks) in foster care, and honestly, she’s earned every bite. She’s easygoing with other dogs, a bit timid but respectful of cats, and adores humans of all ages. She’s housebroken and doesn’t need to be kenneled, but will tolerate a crate with a dramatic sigh. She does get a little excited on walks, especially when she spots other dogs or friendly strangers, and she absolutely loves her outdoor adventures. With her short legs, long body, and expressive shepherd eyes, we THINK Mya might be some sort of squatty German Shepherd Corgi mix... but what we know for sure is that she’s 100 percent mixed breed good girl. Mya’s perfect day? A slow morning cuddle on the couch, a nice sniffy walk, a sunny spot for napping, and being wherever you are. She's loyal, cuddly, and still has a spark for adventure, just waiting for someone to share it with. She’s fully vetted with vaccines, spay, microchip and ready to go. All she needs now is a family who will love her as much as she loves them. Could that be you?
