My story

Meet Duckie: Silly, Sweet & Ready to LearnDuckie is a handsome 11-month-old Lab/German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a stunning chocolate coat and the heart of a clown. He’s smart, affectionate, full of energy—and very much in need of training.Surrendered by a family who loved him but realized they couldn’t give him what he needed, Duckie is now looking for a home ready to help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. He’s lived with another dog and with cats—he plays with both, although cats still confuse him a little! He’s been around children, but because he’s a big, strong boy, older kids are a better match (especially ones who remember to pick up their crayons, toys, and snacks… because Duckie will not be picky about what he puts in his mouth).This boy loves walks (even if he pulls), running in a fenced yard, and trips to the dog park. His favorite things? Tennis balls, squeaky toys (only with supervision - he’s a little too enthusiastic), Kongs, and good sturdy bones.Duckie is sweet, playful, and eager to please—but he needs structure, patience, and a home that understands young sporting breeds. He’ll need a job, daily exercise, and guidance to keep him happy and out of trouble.If you’re up for a little chaos, a lot of love, and a dog who will make you laugh every day, Duckie might be your perfect match.
