My story

Hello!  My name is Taffy. I’m a 3-year-old Miniature Poodle girl who weighs 15 lbs.  I am a curious and gentle girl who is looking to find her forever home.  Maybe that is with you?  That would be SWEET . . . just like Taffy! General Behavior: Taffy is a somewhat active girl who is quiet and independent.  She likes to be with people and dogs, but she is not overly affectionate.  She will gladly follow others around the house to stay close, but she is not clingy. Likes & Dislikes: Taffy enjoys sitting on her foster’s lap and being gently brushed/groomed.  She also likes chest rubs.  Toys?  Meh, she can take them or leave them.  She is really fine with just doing her “own thing”.  She tolerates snuggles and car rides.  Taffy can be nervous of men initially and she may growl or bark at times. Her new home should go nice and slow with men as she learns to warm up to them.  Training: Taffy has good basic manners and walks well on a leash, She is housetrained in her foster home and will need to continue being let out on a regular, consistent schedule.  Medical:  Taffy will benefit from having her eyes and ears cleaned weekly.  Other than that, she will just require her monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, like any other dog.    Other Animals: Terrific Taffy has experience with dogs of all sizes and generally ignores them.  She has not been tested with cats yet, but her foster feels she would be fine with a feline in the house.  Children:  Taffy has not been around children, so older children (teens) would likely be best for her.   Home:  Taffy would happily live in a single-family home, condo or apartment/townhouse.  She does have some anxiety, so her preference would be to live in a home where her person/people are home more often than not.  Taffy has her own space within a room at her foster home and rather enjoys cozying up in her own bed there.  At night, she sleeps in her bed. Grooming: Being a Miniature Poodle will require regular grooming.  We kindly ask that any potential adopter considers the ongoing cost of this for Taffy. Overall: If you are looking for a gentle girl, Taffy could be the one for you. Are you the one for Taffy? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You will be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it is a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, spayed and has had a recent dental cleaning. Her adoption donation is $450.  ##2405357##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Taffy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
