Missy

My story

Missy is apx 8-12 years old. 9 pounds. She is definitely a rescue dog that also has to have a person that is okay with a rescue dog because she is a bit of a hot mess. Missy is a cat dog. She is skittish, she likes to sit next to you, follow you around, be a part of your day but she is not really a fan of cuddling or being picked up and she is not a big fan of change. Missy had a dental and had almost all her teeth extracted . She does have an enlarged heart and grade 3 heart murmur. We are listing Missy has a hospice adoption, and her adoption fee has been reduced, this will discussed with the approved adopters. She needs a home willing to take her and give her the last few years of comfort , love, snacks and a final resting place to call her own. We are assuming Missy has had a pretty tumultuous life. At one point she probably had a human that loved her as she was previously spayed. She was found as a stray supposedly with no tags or chip. Then the finder kept her for several months and Missy grew very fond of them, but they did not want to keep her and now she is in a foster here. Missy is doing well and her foster is amazing but this is not Missy’s forever home. We would love for Missy to find her final forever family, to know what that feeling is when someone “chooses” you . Something tells me Missy has never actually had that. She is great with other dogs and cats. She pants a lot in new situations. This does subside after a few days once she is comfortable. Just give her a little time. Once she decompresses a bit she is still a cat dog, just a less anxious cat dog. 🙂 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given.
