My story

Meet Bonita! This gorgeous girl truly lives up to her name—beautiful inside and out. She was left behind when her owner moved out and is now looking for a loving home where she can finally be spoiled like she deserves.Bonita is friendly, enthusiastic, and always ready for an adventure. She hops right into the car without hesitation, loves hitting the trails, and is an impressive climber—jumping over obstacles and confidently tackling hiking paths. She even enjoyed splashing her paws in a creek, proving she might have a little “water baby” in her!On top of her adventurous side, Bonita is also a quick learner—she already knows “sit” and picked up “lay down” in no time with the help of some treats. After a good day of exploring, she’s all about snuggles, soaking up every bit of affection you’ll give her.Bonita does want to be queen of her castle, so she would do best without other female dogs in the home. She may be able to live with a male dog. With her waggly tail, big heart, and beautiful spirit, Bonita will brighten any home lucky enough to have her. She just needs a family who will give her the love she’s always deserved—and maybe a few hiking trips along the way.Bonita was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they had to say, `Bonita was a lovely companion for the afternoon. She isn’t the most coordinated but my goodness, she is just so dang cute. There were a couple times she got distracted by something and bonked her head on a trash can or light pole. That did not slow her down though! She loved getting pets and treats. With some patience and a little training, Miss Bonita will be the best companion.`Like all our adult dogs, Bonita will need to meet future (male) canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. At the main campus, you can bring your dog along when you come for adoptions if you like. Bonita is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!
