My story

Meet Trinity. Once she gets to know you, she will jump into your lap for a nice petting and cuddle session. One of her favorite hobbies is to sit in the window and watch the birds and squirrels outside and then curl up for a nap in a sun puddle. She enjoys playing with all kinds of cat toys and especially likes swatting at feathery cat wands. She will leap and flip around in the air trying to catch it. She also likes cardboard scratchers and had a little cat sized couch that she LOVED. Trinity is a sassy girl who knows what she likes, and even more what she doesn't. She once shared a room with some male cats here and she made it known she did not appreciate all those boy shenanigans, although there was one male cat she tolerated because he was VERY mellow. She's never been around any female cats while she's been here, but we suspect she would probably prefer to be the only "queen of the castle." If your looking for an independent but affectionate cat with a sassy streak, Trinity is your girl! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
