My story

Luna is a 10 year old and 10-pound Chihuahua mix with a gentle heart and a calm spirit. She was lovingly surrendered by her owner in Bakersfield who had to give up his five dogs after being forced to move. We’re still getting to know her personality as she adjusts to life at Shelter Hope, away from the only home she has ever known. Luna is sweet, quiet, and easygoing. She enjoys calm pets, curling up on the couch, and spending time with other dogs. Her foster tells us that when she's offered treats, she has the adorable habit of sitting up and balancing on her hind legs to ask for them! Her teeth need some care, so she’ll be getting a dental soon to help her feel more comfortable. This little sweetheart is ready for a peaceful home where she can feel safe and loved. ------ Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please Keep in Mind: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt.
