My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Meet Giggles – the sweetest 4 month old Lab puppy who’s equal parts cuddlebug, shadow, and sunshine in fur form.   Rescued from the shelter, Giggles lives up to her name with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. She’s soft, warm, gentle, and so eager to please— she just wants to be near her people, all day, every day. Whether she’s snoozing quietly at your feet or trailing you from room to room like your most loyal fan, Giggles is the definition of a velcro pup. If you step out without her, expect a little protest— this girl wants to be where the love is!   Giggles is already almost completely housetrained (though she does consider the doormat fair game—thankfully, it's outside), and she’s quickly picking up on manners and tricks. She knows “sit,” uses the dog door like a pro, and has the softest little mouth when taking treats. She’s mellow, calm, and incredibly smart, with a trainable temperament that makes her a dream to raise.   She’s great with other dogs, wonderful with kids, and does beautifully in the car. On walks, she’s already good on leash and will be even better with practice. Her only puppy “flaw”? She’s so excited to greet new friends (and to her, everyone is a friend) that she sometimes jumps up to say hello. It’s all love—just something a future family can help her refine.   Giggles loves toys of all kinds—chew toys, squeaky toys, balls—and happily entertains herself with a peanut butter-stuffed Kong. She almost knows how to fetch… and she’s just waiting for her forever home to help her master it.   At night, Giggles settles on her bed and sleeps soundly until you’re ready to start the day together. If she had it her way, she’d curl up right on your lap—or next to you in bed—and honestly, who could say no?   If you’re looking for a loving, gentle, loyal little best friend with the soul of an old dog and the heart of a puppy, Giggles is ready to be your everything.July 21, 2025, 2:11 pm
