My story

Meet Ace! This 4-year-old, 14 lb Shih Tzu mix is a quiet, polite little gentleman with a soft heart and a tail that’s always wagging. Ace may be a bit shy at first, but give him a little time and you’ll discover a cuddly, affectionate companion who just wants to be near his person. Ace has the perfect mix of couch potato energy and a love for strolls around the block. He walks well on a leash, enjoys soft toys, loves being pet, and adores belly rubs. He’s also totally house trained, uses puppy pads if needed, and has been nothing short of respectful in his foster home—he even waits to be invited onto the couch! He gets along well with other dogs and has done wonderfully with people of all ages that he’s met. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, but he’s been friendly with everyone so far. He’s not much of a barker and isn’t food-obsessed—though he certainly won’t say no to a treat! Ace travels well if carried or walked and he handled his bath and blow-dry like a total pro. He’s not big on commands just yet, but he responds well to calm redirection and is eager to please. This sweet, soulful little guy would love a cozy home where he can enjoy peaceful walks, plush beds, gentle snuggles, and people who’ll let him blossom at his own pace.
