My story

** $1,705 in pledges to any rescue that may pull! ** Andy Anderson ACCT-A-226558 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Andy Anderson must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 at 10AM. Should Andy’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Andy Anderson — a fun-loving, sweet-natured pup with a heart as big as his name! Andy was found wandering the streets by a kind person who had seen him a few times and knew he needed help. Since arriving at ACCT Philly, Andy has shown himself to be gentle, affectionate, and full of potential. While he may be a little timid at first, he’s warming up more every day and is eager to make friends—both human and canine! This handsome boy enjoys going for walks, sniffing everything he can, and hanging out in the yard. He has a loose, wiggly body when greeting people, walks nicely on leash, and is very food-motivated—he’ll happily sit (or even gently jump!) for treats, which he takes softly from your hand. Andy loves pets and cuddles, even climbing into a volunteer’s lap for snuggles and some playful ear nibbles. He’s had positive interactions with other dogs, showing a wagging tail and gentle interest during playgroup. While sometimes a bit aloof, he’s calm and respectful, and he’s been noted for giving clear, appropriate corrections when needed. Andy Anderson would thrive in a calm but active home, especially one familiar with working breeds. He’s looking for structure, enrichment, and—most importantly—a loving family to call his own. Come meet Andy Anderson at ACCT Philly, open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.—he just might be your perfect match. What more could you ask for- he's the total package! Andy Anderson was found as a stray and brought to the shelter after the finder saw him wandering a few different days! Andy has made the best of his shelter stay- he's a fun loving boy, enjoying the treats and making friends with anyone he can! While he may be making the most of it, he'd love to get a safe exit from the shelter into a safe and loving home. Like most working dog breeds, he will benefit from an active home who can give him the enrichment and structure he deserves. Andy Anderson is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly- you can meet him any day from 10am-6pm! Per volunteer 7/24/25: Greeted me with a loose and wiggly body with alert ears at the front of his kennel. I easily looped the leash around his neck and he hopped right out. He walks amazingly on the leash without any pulling and it’s pretty checked in with his handler. He’s extremely treat motivated and sniffed them right out of my fanny pack! When I held them up for him to do sit, he would jump up gently to try to grab them, but takes them very gently out of my hands. When I sat down on a bench, he jumped into my lap and was taking pets all over and started nibbling on my ear. He’s a super affectionate and loving boy and very exuberant with his love! Some jumping and mouthiness but all very gentle. Went back into his kennel easily without hesitation. Playgroup 7/24/25: Not steerable, avoidant, aloof, SM, gives correction Per finder 7/22/25: With strangers: Timid + Shy. With other animals: Unknown With children: Unknown. Walks pretty well on leash. Overall friendly, scared, quiet Medical Notes: URI 7/27/25: This dog has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. Intake 7/22/25: Body Condition Score: 4 - Lean Eyes - Clear Ears - Clean Nose - Clear Mouth/Teeth/Gums - Staining on back teeth, front teeth looked good, pink/moist gums Coat & Skin - Tick behind ear, flea dirt Urogenital - Male intact w/2 Gait/Mobility - Normal Attitude: Allowed all handling, sore behind ear with the tick, BAR, allowed muzzling Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat. ACCT Philly’s Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.
