My story

**Meet Miles!**Miles is a 3-year-old tri-color pup who was surrendered to ACC when his owner moved in with a partner who is severely allergic to dogs. Described as a smart, affectionate, and high-energy companion, Miles is a dog who thrives on routine, activity, and bonding time with his humans. He's had a tough transition to the shelter, but his gentle eyes and wiggly greetings show there's still so much love left to give.---**My ideal home:**Miles is looking for a calm, adult-only home with someone who can help him build confidence and set clear, consistent boundaries. A person experienced with working dogs or those who need a little extra guidance would be ideal. A structured environment, regular exercise, and patient training will help him shine.**Good with kids?**No, Miles should not live with children under 13. While he can be playful, he's shown fearful behaviors and had one minor snapping incident in the home. An adult-only household is the safest, most supportive place for him right now.**Good with other pets?**Miles lived peacefully with a cat in his previous home and was friendly with her. He hasn't had much dog-to-dog experience. In the shelter, he's shown some excitement and reactivity toward other dogs, so if he does join a home with a dog, introductions should be slow, structured, and closely supervised.**Leash manners:**Miles has a history of pulling hard on leash and being reactive to strangers while walking with his people. He's been practicing loose-leash walking in the shelter and would benefit from a front-clip harness, decompression walks, and lots of positive reinforcement.**Overall health:**Miles is healthy, up to date on vaccines, and ready for neuter surgery. He weighs around 36 lbs and has been a good patient at the vet, accepting handling slowly and gently.**Behavior determination:****Level 4** - Miles has a minor bite history (no broken skin) and displays fearful behavior when startled or restrained. He also struggles with barrier frustration and impulse control. He will need a confident, experienced adopter who can work through these challenges with patience and positive training.**Other fun facts:*** Miles is crate-trained but doesn't love being crated.* He loves car rides and bacon treats.* He knows "sit" and enjoys long walks and toys (though he goes through them fast!).* His adoption fee has been **sponsored** by a generous supporter!---**Ready to help Miles find his stride again?** With the right guidance and a loving, structured home, this bright and loyal boy is sure to be an amazing companion. If you're up for a little training and a lot of love, Miles is waiting to meet you. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 36.6 Age: 3yrs 1mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Miles, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
