My story

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION... SNOW is currently in foster care in Houston, The adoption fee includes the transport by Mighty Mutt Shipping if interested there is an application on our website houstonshaggydogrescue.org Snow is approx 15 months old and 53 lbs, her Dna shows her to be a Goldendoodle, SHE IS A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG .... She requires an experienced and diligent owner, she can only eat dog food , she had abrasions in her stomach and intestines and runs the risk of a blockage if she eats anything else. We had our soft tissue surgeon do her surgery and spay her , this is her summary SURGERY: (6/18/2025) At surgery we found the entire abdominal cavity and organs to have diffuse adhesions, causing fibrous bands that intestines were wrapped around, as well as sharp kinked turns in the intestines. The adhesions were caused by a thin fibrous and gelatinous tissue covering all structures. Adhesions were released as needed to free the sharp kinks in the intestines as well as release the bands of tissue that intestines can loop and cause obstruction or strangulation. Some of the tissue was submitted for culture as well as biopsy as we do not know the cause of the condition within the abdomen. It was also noted that the mesentery supporting the intestines was abnormally thin and fragile and several areas of defects had to be repaired to prevent intestinal strangulation through the rents. New adhesions are expected to form, so Snow will have to be watched closely for GI symptoms. Hyaluronic acid was instilled in the abdomen to try to decrease adhesion formation in the immediate future. A spay was also performed. Snow is a really sweet dog,she loves to run and play in the yard with her rescue buddies and loves people ,she seems to be well house and leash trained and deserves a wonderful home THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS, OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 10 years.for our puppies. The total adoption fee of $400.. includes the transport, interstate health cert, microchip, spay, and all vaccines and boosters

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Snow, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
