My story

Garcia is a black and white male Pekingese/Chihuahua mix with a laid-back vibe and a soulful heart, perfectly named after the legendary Jerry Garcia. With his mellow demeanor and thoughtful eyes, Garcia is the kind of pup who takes life at his own pace, preferring to soak in the world around him rather than rush through it. He has a gentle, groovy presence that instantly puts others at ease—whether he`s chilling in a sunbeam, slowly wagging his tail to his own rhythm, or offering a calm, quiet cuddle after a long day of play.Though he`s relaxed by nature, Garcia still has a playful twinkle in his eye and a mischievous side that comes out in unexpected bursts of joy. He may not always be the loudest in the room, but he’s deeply connected to his people and full of quiet affection. Much like his namesake, Garcia brings a steady warmth, a unique spirit, and a little touch of magic to every space he enters. He’s a true original — a free spirit wrapped in fur, always ready to follow the music of the moment.ADOPTION PACKAGEThank you for your interest in adopting your next pet from The Haven. Each dog adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, rabies vaccine and tag (age 3 months and up), microchip, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm preventative, a free starter bag of Hills Science Diet, and coupons from area businesses.Please make sure you review the following as part of the adoption process:· Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.· A current government-issued photo ID (no student IDs) - such as a driver`s license, state ID, passport, military ID, etc.· Have a Meet and Greet with the animal and our adoption coordinator (These can be a virtual Meet and Greet session due to COVID-19)· Adopters are responsible for bringing their own travel carrier with them when picking up their new pet.· The Haven accepts cash, check, debit/credit cards, or money orders.* For adopters of cats and dogs aged 6 months or less, or those with a medical condition preventing immediate spaying or neutering, The Haven requires a signed Spay/Neuter (S/N) Agreement and a $100 cash deposit, refundable upon completion of the spay/neuter procedure.
