Mimzy (Aka Xena)

My story

Xena was rescued in 2020 with several other kitties from a colony in LA, where they were living on the streets. A fellow rescuer brought them in and put them in foster care to make sure the kitties were safe. She was adopted at 3 months old and was returned to us 5 months later because her previous owners said she was too shy with them and played too rough with their current cat. 3 days after her return, Xena was adopted again. After 4 years in her home, she was brought back to us, again. Mimzy has become very fearful as a result of her upbringing, and is looking for a very special home. She will require a quiet home with patient and very experienced cat parents who will take the time to socialize with her. Mimzy is very shut down at this point and will hiss when first approached, but will gladly accept pets after some greeting sniffs and quality brushing. She is truly eager for love and attention, but hasn't yet conquer her fears. We expect that after some time, love, and patience, that she will blossom into the loving kitty that she is. At this time, we are unsure of how she does with other cats, as she has not been around them for several years. For this reason, we do not recommend that she go to a home with other cats or dogs.
