My story

Bam ACCT-A-227020 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Bam must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 at 10AM. Found alone near Clark Park without a collar or microchip, she quickly showed everyone at ACCT Philly that she’s as sweet as they come—friendly with strangers, well-behaved on leash, and a calm passenger in the car. No one came forward for her, but that just means she’s now ready to find a brand-new forever family! Bam is what we call a “green dog”—one of the easiest pups in the shelter and a favorite for new volunteers to walk. She greets people with soft, wiggly enthusiasm, takes treats gently, and is quick to win your heart with her affectionate lean-ins and playful zoomies. In the yard, she loves to trot around, chase a ball (though she’s just as happy to curl up under a bench with you), and has shown friendly, bouncy play with other dogs. While she can be a little timid around loud noises or busy doorways, a sprinkle of encouragement, some baby talk, and a treat or two is all she needs to follow you anywhere. She’s easy to leash, eager to please, and happiest when by your side. Bam is available right now for rescue, adoption, or foster, and she needs an urgent placement. She was very chill at the back of her kennel but came forward for treats. Leashed and out easily but was jumpy for attention. She also hadn't been out in a while. She did some happy sprints in the cold xlub yard, but mainly stuck around me. She followed a ball but didn't conti me to engage. Then she went to chill under the bench and just relaxed directly under where I was sitting. She didn't want to leave the yard, but it was raining. She came along with some treats and encouragement. Went back into her kennel easily. Playgroup 8/12: Bam was semi steerable with the can and was vocally excited to enter the yard. puppy behavior, bouncy play, engaged in play with everyone, no boundaries, mouthy and tolerant of mounting Per volunteer 8/6/25: Found alone near Clark Park on Chester and 46th Street, Bam was brought to ACCT Philly after being discovered without a collar or microchip. It’s clear from the start that this gentle, sweet girl was once someone’s companion—she was friendly with strangers, well-behaved on leash, and calmly rode in the car with no issues. Sadly, no one came forward for her, but Bam is ready to move forward and find a new family to love. Bam is a young pup with a heart full of sweetness and a sprinkle of silly puppy energy. Volunteers and staff alike have noted her extremely social nature—she is soft, wiggly, and affectionate with people, happily soliciting pets and giving play bows when excited. She takes treats gently, enjoys zooming around in the yard, and has even shown friendly, respectful behavior when meeting other dogs. Though initially timid around loud noises or new doorways, Bam is quick to trust and follow your lead, especially if you bring baby talk and treats! She's easy to leash, eager to engage, and happiest when by your side. Per volunteer 8/6: Bam is a very sweet and playful young pup. She has puppy like energy and was very excited to be outside as she wanted to zoom and play while on our walk! She had calmed down a bit after walking and walked better on our way back inside, but was hesitant to go back towards her kennel. She followed me for treats and was no issue. Per staff 8/3/25: Kennel presentation: At the back laying down in a ball. Comes forward with soft squinty eyes, tail Low wagging just at the end. Lip Licks, head low, pretzeling. Easy to leash Leash skills: Tail down and ears back, walks behind the handler, resists going past some barking dogs and through some thresholds. Needs time, baby talk and getting on her level and she comes forward. Sociability: Extremely social To the handler and to people Passing by. Loose wiggly body, soft. When touching she stops moving, lip Licks and when You stop petting she solicits more touching. Got the zoomies and did play bows towards me. Takes treats gently, sat when a treat was offered. Play: playful with me, Zoomies and play bows. Ears back and side eyes. Dog interaction: met Linda while walking, loose body, approached to the side, lip Lip licks and low tail. Return to kennel: Timid through doorways and walking past barking dogs. Went into kennel easily. Easy to remove the leash. Per finder 7/27/25: Friendly with strangers, shows interest in other animals but seems docile. Well behaved on leash. Friendly, cuddly, well behaved in car Medical Notes: URI 8/12/25: This dog has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. Intake 7/27/25: Weight: 38 lbs Body Condition Score: 5 - Ideal Eyes - clean and clear Ears - clean Nose - clean and moist Mouth/Teeth/Gums - pink moist gums and light stained teeth. Coat & Skin - clean no fleas Urogenital - intact female, no tattoo or scar found. Gait/Mobility - no lameness Attitude: BAR Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted.
