My story

Cora is a gentle 9-year-old senior girl who tips the scales at 90 pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—she’s a total softie. Whether she’s curled up on her bed or strolling slowly down the trail, Cora lives life at a relaxed, peaceful pace. She’s a sweet soul who loves a good nap and a calm walk, and she’s great on leash—just don’t expect to go anywhere fast! She’s highly treat motivated, gives a polite “sit,” and takes treats oh-so-gently. She’s a perfect example of how amazing senior dogs can be—wise, calm, and full of love to give.Recently, Cora attended the MEGA Adoption Event, and she was a total champ. Though she hadn`t met her handler before that day, she made quite the impression with her easygoing, affectionate personality. She spent hours calmly lounging on the floor, graciously accepting pets from people of all ages and showing zero reactivity to other dogs all around her. Cora appears to be very housetrained, confirmed after a long day out and about. She was a trooper getting into the car, needing just a bit of help, but once inside she happily settled in the backseat and loved sticking her head between the seats to feel the A/C on her face.Cora recently enjoyed a Dog’s Day Out with a BARCS volunteer, and she turned an ordinary afternoon into something special. This lovely senior lady started her adventure with a light trail walk, where she strolled along at an easy pace, taking in all the sights and smells. Afterward, she headed to a local coffee shop, where she charmed everyone she met with her gentle nature and warm, soulful presence. Cora is a simple gal who delights in life’s little pleasures: a tasty treat, a cool blast of air conditioning, and plenty of love and attention. She may need a small boost into the car, but once she’s settled, she rides like the perfect passenger princess, calmly watching the world go by. Everywhere she went, people smiled, and Cora happily shared her affection with friendly strangers as if to say, “Thanks for noticing me!” She radiates nothing but love, calm, and good vibes. Cora would thrive with someone who enjoys going with the flow, taking it slow, and savoring the small joys—because she’s the perfect partner to stop and smell the roses with.Cora has met other dogs at the shelter, she is a gentle girl. She interacted well with small dogs. She may need to meet any doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match. Cora is looking for a loving family to share her

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cora, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
