My story

Meet May! This 5-year-old, 20-pound pup is finally getting her shot at the good life. She was found as a stray and surprised us all by giving birth shortly after arriving to the rescue. It was clear it wasn’t her first time... her body told us she’d likely been used for breeding most of her life, but those days are over now.May is finally getting to be a dog for the first time in her life, and she’s making the most of it! She’s curious, clever, and always keeping us on our toes. She’s been known to leap onto counters if she catches a whiff of something tasty, so she’ll do best in a home that keeps snacks tucked away and safety in mind. She’s not trying to be naughty, she just knows what she wants and isn’t shy about going for it!She’s a total sweetheart once she knows you. She loves to cuddle, loves her walks, and will happily flop over for a belly rub whenever you’re nearby. Her absolute favorite thing? Her Lambchop stuffy. She carries it around like a prize.May gets along with most dogs but has a bit of an alpha streak, so a dog who can match her energy level or a home where she can soak up all the attention would be ideal.
